La Mauriane is not a domain or castle name, it is  from different selected plots  from Château Rigaud, a well-known terroir of the Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion appellation.
Pierre Taix launched this wine with the 1997 vintage.

The Vieux Bayard-Arvouet vineyard is located in Bordeaux, in the middle of the most prestigious terroirs of Libourne and in the north-eastern extension of Saint-Émilion on the right bank of the Garonne and the Dordogne.

This charming property of 4 hectares is located on the place of Arvouet.
Its surface is in one piece and presents a traditional right bank grape variety.

Grapes : Merlot 70%, Cabernet Sauvignon 15%, Cabernet Franc 15%. 

This wine presents a dress of a beautiful deep purple color, a very accessible fruity and vanilla nose at the same time. The palate illustrates Merlot on predominantly clay soil, it is supple, generous and delicate. This wine is a delicacy of ripe fruit with melted, balanced and suave tannins.

The name of DEspagne is attached to the land of Saint-Émilion; there are documents showing the presence of the Despaignes in the XNUMXth^th and XIV^th century.
Today the seventh generation of the same family represented by François DEspagne runs this cru and perpetuates with respect these values ​​inherited.
Located north of the Saint-Emilion appellation, bordering Pomerol, the vineyard of Château Grand Corbin-DEspagne is found on two main types of soil: clay-sandy-siliceous with iron grime and ancient superficial sands on compact blue clays.

Petit Corbin-DEspagne is a selection of lots from vines between 10 and 20 years old.

Château JEAN FAURE 2019 SAINT EMILION GRAND CRU CLASS

A historic premier cru, appearing in the middle of the 18th century on the first cartography of the great Bordeaux terroirs, Château Jean Faure has survived the ages with consistency. Formerly attached to Figeac, Jean Faure has not changed in area since the beginning of the 19th century.

Château Jean Faure claims more than 50% Cabernet-franc. Unique grape variety in Saint-Émilion but very close to that of the mythical vintages of Cheval Blanc and Figeac. This composition: 50% Cabernet Franc, 45% Merlot and 5% Malbec inclines the cru towards elegance and freshness.

Historic 18 hectare vineyard, CHÂTEAU JEAN FAURE is rooted in a magnificent terroir of clay and iron dross composed of a dominant Cabernet Franc (50%). Xavier Choné, Agricultural engineer and Doctor of Oenology, carried out a large-scale pedological study on the soil of Château Jean Faure by having 30 surveys carried out. It summarizes the geology and the relief of the vineyard of Château Jean Faure: “80% of the surface of the vineyard of Château Jean Faure presents a very clayey subsoil which appears from 30 to 100 cm in depth. The roots can go down to 150 to 200 cm deep.

Château Tertre Roteboeuf is a small 6-hectare wine estate beautifully located on the south coast of Saint-Émilion, in the town of Saint-Laurent-de-Combes. 
 The vines with an average age of 40 years are cultivated in sustainable agriculture in order to protect the fruit and the soil. 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc

In the vineyard a real work of goldsmith, completely manual (rigorous size in double guyot, disbudding, suckering, 2 stripping, a first green harvest before veraison and a second after) allows to obtain a scarce harvest but a great quality. The harvest is of course entirely manual and made in crates with only one layer of grapes to avoid crushing. Severe sorting is done in the vineyard to eliminate all the berries that could reduce the quality of the wine.
Sweet vattings under temperature control favoring the elegance of the wine are made during twenty days.
The aging is done in barrels of fine-grained French oak (50% new barrels, 50% barrels of a wine).

Tour du Sème, the little brother of Château Milens, is made with the same care as its predecessor: the management of the vines, manual harvesting, partial vinification in small thermo-regulated vats.

Also coming from low yields, the will is to focus on balance and freshness while maintaining a good concentration.

The selection is done by the choice of plots, the youngest are for the Tour du Sème, the aging is done in barrels of second wine (Milens).

Château MILENS is characterized by the balance of its ripe tannins that bring freshness to an imposing flesh and a bright fruitiness. The length in the mouth is of a beautiful intensity with a melted finish. A great connoisseur wine to discover and to make known.
