The fertile land around Akashi is ideal for rice cultivation and there are many fresh and clean springs that provide the area with the purest water.

Their aim is to reveal and celebrate the diversity of tastes that the different varieties of rice can offer, and not to lead to the homogeneous erosion of taste and character.

To achieve this goal, to find the true soul of rice, sometimes you have to go further and respect even elaborate details.

They brew with traditional equipment and methods, always by hand and in small batches, as has been the case for centuries. However, traditional does not mean closed-minded, conservative or non-progressive.

campari 70cl 25 °

Campari is a contemporary and charismatic classic that has remained unchanged over the years. The creation of Campari was the fruit of the talent of Gaspare Campari, master creator of spirits and founder of the company. His experiments with concocting new beverages in Novara in 1860 resulted in a recipe that remains a secret today only known to a few people responsible for the production process.

Campari is an alcohol obtained from the infusion of bitter herbs, aromatic plants and fruits in alcohol and water. Many have tried to guess the number of ingredients: some say there are 20 or 60, but others say there are 80. To date, alcohol and water are the only ones. known ingredients of this special and secret recipe. Its bright red color, intense aroma and characteristic bitter taste make it very versatile and make it the perfect base for some of the world's most famous cocktails.

At the origin of the powerful group Angostura, we find ... a medicinal remedy, invented by Dr. Siegert, a German doctor who arrived in Venezuela to help Simon Bolivar, fighting for the independence of his country. To relieve the troops from the ravages of fevers, he develops a bitter liquor, based on local plants and spices.
It quickly bears the name of a Venezuelan port, Angostura (now Ciudad Bolivar). The heirs of Dr. Siegert will then give him an international reputation, not so much as a remedy ... but as an essential ingredient for the success of many cocktails.

A bit of history… on the Old Fashioned

The Old Fashioned's first recipe dates back to 1862 under its old name "Whiskey Cocktail", but the current recipe comes from the "Pendennis Club" in Louisville, Kentucky. The Old Fashioned was developed by the club's bartender and a club member, James E. Pepper who incidentally owned the “Pepper” bourbon brand (that makes things easier…). The name given to this cocktail was the "Old Fashioned Whiskey Cocktail".

James E. Pepper was so proud of his cocktail that he ordered an Old Fashioned on all of his trips while teaching the bartender the recipe.

Prohibition in the US changed the recipe as with other cocktails from the USA. The bartenders crushed the sugar and the bitter with an orange zest while adding soda water and two maraschino cherries covering the taste of alcohol and bitter. The cocktail also took its final name of "Old Fashioned", it is easy to understand why the words Whiskey Cocktail have disappeared.

  • Put the sugar in the glass, sprinkle it with angostura, a drop of whiskey then mash it and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.

If the Marc de Bourgogne descends from the grape, we say of the Fine de Bourgogne that it is the worthy daughter of wine. The fines used are distilled from wines of exceptional controlled appellations: Chambolle-Musigny, Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, Aloxe-Corton, Volnay or Pommard to name but a few.
After aging in wood and clearing, we select the part of the wines that rest at the bottom of the pieces (Burgundy barrels): these are wines rich in very fine lees. Then, after distillation, the slow aging and precise assembly will come, which will give all its typicity to the Très Vieille Fine de Bourgogne Joseph Cartron. At all stages of the production of this eau-de-vie for aging, Joseph Cartron perpetuates a secular tradition, an alchemy of three inseparable skills: those of the winegrower, the distiller and the Maison Joseph Cartron.
