BAROLO DOCG CEREQUIO MICHELE CHIARLO 2018
Varietal:NEBBIOLO
Located between the municipalities of La Morra and Barolo, Cerequio is considered one of the most prestigious crus of Barolo. A magnificent amphitheater of vines where soils, exposure and microclimate combine to create exceptional Barolos. "Position of choice", as Lorenzo Fantini described it in 1880, author of the first monograph on viticulture in the province of Cuneo, it was included among the "Top Category" wines by Renato Ratti, in the famous Mappa del Barolo published in 1965, the basis of the current classification in MGA, or Supplementary Geographical Definitions, which designates this area as having "absolute prestige".
Due to its geographical position, protected from the winds, Cerequio is nicknamed the “Riviera of the Langhe”. Here, Michele Chiarlo manages nine hectares of vineyards in Nebbiolo da Barolo, around 6 of which were acquired in 1988 from an estate that had cultivated them for more than two centuries without interruption.
LAMBRUSCO REGGIANO DOLCE PETTIROSSO
Lambrusco consists exclusively of the Lambrusco grape variety. The grapes are placed in tanks for fermentation.
Winegrowers do not wait until all the sugar is turned into alcohol to bottle the Lambrusco. Once locked, these residual sugars cause a second fermentation.
This gives a naturally sweet and slightly beading wine.
With its red dress and fine bubbles, the Lambrusco surprises.
Produced in the north of Italy, in the great plains of Emilie around Modena, this cuvée Pettirosso (Rouge Gorge) is a sweet wine (Dolce) slightly sparkling (frizzante).
The Salicutti wine estate, owned by renowned Munich restaurateurs Felix and Sabine Eichbauer of the prestigious Tantris, is nestled in wildly beautiful surroundings southeast of Montalcino. Although the precise history of the property, located about two hours from Florence, has been lost in the twists and turns of time, the origins of its name are clear: it takes its name from the stream that demarcates its southern border.
Few could have predicted that this modest plot of land would become the cradle of an exceptional terroir when Francesco Leanza initially cultivated it almost 30 years ago. Today, the estate house and the cellar constitute the heart of an enclosed microcosm of 11 hectares, of which 4,5 hectares are dedicated to vines, supplemented by an olive grove and a forest.
