CÔTES DE PROVENCE BLANC 1610 CHATEAU GRAND BOISE 2019 75CL

Grapes:
 50% Vermentino, 50% Semillon

On a naturally favorable site, 77 plots of vines are scattered within a vast area of 500 hectares on the mountainside.
They form here and there small terraces facing the Sainte-Victoire mountain. The vine has been cultivated there for several centuries.
Patiently, in harmony with nature and the woods that surround him, man walks the paths to cultivate the vine where it gives him the best grapes.
The terroir is that of the new Sainte Victoire appellation, an ecosystem naturally favorable to vines since Roman times. Château Grand Boise is the highest estate there, with vines between 300 and 640 meters.

The combination of altitude with good sunshine makes it possible to obtain wines of great freshness and great balance. No chemical fertilizers or weedkillers are used. The known origins of

La Grand'Boise as a domain dates back to 1610, the date of the oldest property deed found. It was in 1879 that the three estates (Grand'Boise, Cabassude and Les Brunets) united to form one. Traditionally family owned, the estate only changed hands three times in its entire history. Under the impetus of its new owner, a passionate doctor, the estate has very recently been thoroughly renovated. It has equipped itself with efficient and qualitative technical means. The olive-growing activity is revived with 800 olive trees on 3 hectares.

Today, the vineyard covers 24 ha. clay-limestone soils. The grape variety is made up of traditional grape varieties: Grenache Noir, Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Clairette, Rolle (Vermentino) Ugni.

For a third, the vines have more than 40 years, for a third between 15 and 40 years and for a third between 1 and 15 years.

From the Sainte Baume massif, which rises at an altitude of 1042 m, the relief towards the sea is formed by long mountain ranges and high plateaus. Here, the estate grows vines at an altitude of 350 to 390 m in the hollow of an imposing rocky cirque on terraces and sloping terrain.

This wild and precious environment favored by a very advantageous microclimate created by the altitude of the soil - and by a slight marine influence.

By choice of crop, the estate strives to maintain the balance of nature: soil work, organic manure, natural phytosanitary protection, no insecticides or synthetic products.

This cuvée Les Genets comes from Vermentino.
This wine offers us a beautiful palette of citrus fruits and white flowers, a very creamy mouth ending on a saline finish.

CONDRIEU LA COMBE DE MALLEVAL 2021 STEPHANE OGIER

CONDRIEU LA COMBE DE MALLEVAL 2021 STEPHANE OGIER

Stéphane OGIER winemaker at AMPUIS

Viognier grape variety

It was in 1997 that Stéphane Ogier joined the family estate, rooted for seven generations on the hillsides of Ampuis. By taking over from his father Michel, he chose to do precise work on his different terroirs in order to reveal the unique character of these places full of history.

Over the years, the estate has gone beyond the limits of the village with the desire to discover and sublimate new terroirs. From his experience in Burgundy, Stéphane Ogier retains the taste for elegance and finesse that has become characteristic of his wines. Each year, the winemaker strives to vinify the plots separately, to bring out the best of their potential. The blends are adjusted according to the vintages, like so many stories to tell around its cuvées.

condrieu saint cosme 2019 75cl

CONDRIEU SAINT COSME 2019

100% Viognier. Granitic arenas. Eight months old. Breeding 40% in pieces of a wine - 30% in pieces of two wines - 40% in pieces of three wines. Condrieu leaves no amateur indifferent. We like or we do not like Condrieu. There is no half-measure, it's a fact. But it is a paradox that I have trouble understanding. Condrieu is criticized for being a wine difficult to marry with food. The good deal: it is precisely because it is difficult to marry that it is a great wine of gastronomy. Its strong identity opens fertile paths in the gastronmie but it does not support the approximation. From this point of view, I would like to compare it to the yellow wine of the Jura, which is the wine of gastronomy par excellence but which is "marriageable" with few products. However, just be a little daring: forget the sugar on a poached foie gras and replace it by the maturity of Condrieu. Or try the Condrieu on a Stilton, the pinnacle remaining the Condrieu with the bouillabaisse: certainly a dish that is not cooked every day but everything deserves. Our 2017 comes with its usual depth and nice bitters that contribute to the freshness of the wine. Salinity is still there, deploying the granitic mineral of our soils. The "white wine" version of Cote Rotie is, like its alter ego, a great wine of maturity. There are no great wines without ripe grapes: this simply does not exist. Fennel, licorice, elderberry, old rose, anise.

COTES DU RHONE VILLAGE BLANC SABLET 2019 DOMAINE DES ESPIERS

Grape variety: 100% Clairette

It is in 1989 that the area of Espiers was born in Vacqueyras, when Philippe Cartoux decided to walk in the footsteps of his grandparents who owned a vineyard in the family since 1879.

The vineyard now covers 9,5 hectares including 3 to Gigondas, 4 en Cotes du Rhone et 2,5 en Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages Sablet. The grape variety is largely dominated by the main 3 Rhone grape varieties, namely Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. The vines are in struggle and receive no chemical treatment. In general, the gestures are all part of a logic of respect for the soil and the environment, with yields particularly lower than 35 hl / ha.

CHATEAUNEUF DU POPE BLANC DOMAINE DE LA JANASSE 2019 75 CL

CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE ROUGE OLD VINES DOMAINE DE LA JANASSE 2013

In 1967, Aimé Sabon returned from his military service. He took over the vines from his father (who brought his grapes to the cooperative cellar) and his father-in-law (who sold the wine to the trade).
In 1973, Aimé built his own cellar. Thus was born the Domaine de la Janasse, named after the family farm which was located in Courthézon, at a place called “La Janasse”. Aimé is ambitious. Aware of having a fabulous terroir, he continues to expand the estate by acquiring new plots. From 15 hectares yesterday, La Janasse now occupies 90 hectares.

In 1991, after a BTA in viticulture and oenology in Beaune and a BTS in marketing in Mâcon, Christophe Sabon joined his father who, from the start, left him the keys to the cellar. Under his leadership, La Janasse produces different cuvées, conquers new markets and is firmly in keeping with its time.
In 2001, Isabelle, Christophe's sister, a graduate oenologist from the Faculty of Toulouse, joined the team in 2001. With Hélène, Aimé's wife and Christophe and Isabelle's mother, the family is reunited at La Janasse, which becomes, in a few years, one of the jewels of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Grapes: 60% Grenache, 20% Clairette, 20% Roussanne.

The vines are grown without pesticides or insecticides and the manure is of natural origin. The land is worked without weedkiller to maintain the aeration and flexibility of the soil.
Manual harvest in boxes with sorting in the vineyard. Pneumatic pressing then vinification in vats for the grenaches and clairettes. Roussannes are vinified in barrels.
Aged on the lees, in vats for the Grenaches and Clairettes and in barrels (3/4 of which are new wood) with stirring for the Roussannes, for 7 months.
