DOMAINE DE CHEVALIER 2020

Pessac Léognan Rouge
Grapes: 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc

Domain Details

Located on the edge of the sandy plateau of the Landes, to the west, and the historic vineyard of Graves, which occupies the eastern part of the land, on the banks of the Garonne, the estate only affirms its viticultural vocation in the second half of the XNIXXth century. In 19, Arnaud Ricard and his son Jean, both coopers, acquired the farm which still bears the old Gascon name of "Chivaley". It is in fact Jean Ricard who, at the death of his father, three years later, sensing the exceptional party that could be drawn from the terroir of Chevalier, will be the real creator of the vineyard estate. On the death of Jean Ricard Gabriel Beaumartin, his son-in-law, succeeds him at the head of the farm and it is he who will really establish the reputation of the estate's wine. In 1865, after the death of Gabriel Beaumartin, his son-in-law, Jean Ricard, inherits the estate. But this one does not have a big interest in the field, it is finally his son, Jean, who takes the domain in hand, then only aged 1940 years. Thanks to him the domain gains in notoriety and technicality and propels the domain alongside the biggest ones. And from 21, Olivier Bernard will be the one to continue the work undertaken a hundred and twenty years ago.

The Chapel of the Mission Haut Brion 2020 75cl
THE HAUT BRION MISSION CHAPEL 2020

Second wine of Château LA MISSION DE HAUT BRION
Pessac Léognan

Its name echoes the chapel of La Mission Haut-Brion, returned by the Lazarist priests in 1698. This name is a tribute to the priests of the Mission who endeavored to improve the cultivation of the vine and the quality of the wines, during the whole 18th century.

The Château La Mission Haut-Brion vineyard is located in the communes of Talence and Pessac, a few kilometers south-west of Bordeaux. It is part of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, to the north of the Graves de Bordeaux wine region. The estate faces Château Haut-Brion and shares with it this vast terrace of beautiful tombs called Haut-Brion on old maps and charters. These gravels which contribute to the viticultural value of the soil of Château La Mission Haut-Brion are small pebbles, made up of different varieties of quartz. Gravel soils deposited on a unique subsoil of clay, sand, limestone and faluns (shelled limestone) established from the end of the Tertiary era, then during the Quaternary throughout the glacial episodes.

CHATEAU CAZEBONNE ASTERIE DE DARCHE 2019

Aoc graves Red
Plot 100% Merlot

Cazebonne is one of the oldest properties in the municipality of Saint-Pierre de Mons. In 1700, the property belonged to Messire Pierre de Castelnau, adviser to the king and mayor of Langon. One of the descendants of the fourth generation, Joanès de Castelnau, was mayor of Saint-Pierre-de-Mons in 1840, and lived in Cazebonne. The property now covers 40 hectares, under organic cultivation.
The property has 6 main islets with a wide variety of terroirs. Sands and silts that bring finesse, deep gravel for complexity, clay-limestone for complexity. It is this variety of terroirs that allows us to offer you a complete range of wines with such different profiles.
The property was bought in 2016 by Jean-Baptiste Duquesne, entrepreneur and always passionate about wines. The project was born from a meeting with David Poutays, winemaker at Clos de Mounissens. David manages the estate and leads the conversion of the estate to organic and biodynamics, with the greatest respect for the land and the vine. He is accompanied by Bruno, Benjamin and Francis

Plots, Asterias of Darche
Merlot in amphora 2019
100% Merlot on a very particular gravel terroir, the limestone rock (that of Saint-Emilion) outcrops between 1 and 3 meters deep.
The structure is more full-bodied than on Cabernet-Sauvignon, but the aging has allowed this lovely wine to age. Already very greedy.
Vinification in natural yeasts. Aging in amphora for 5 months.
