The Chichibu distillery was born in 2008 from the passion and the will ofIchiro Akuto to extend the history of his family of sake and shochu producers since the 17th century. But his passion and his know-how in whiskey production were directly transmitted to him by his grandfather, founder in 1941 of the now legendary Hanyu distillery, which is now closed, and whose last barrels are stored and bottled at Chichibu.
After working for Suntory, Ichiro Akuto decides to found his own whiskey distillery, and embarks on a very ambitious project; one day produce a 100% Japanese whiskey, from barley to the wood of the cask. For this he created the company Venture Whiskey in charge of the distribution of the Ichiro's Malt brand.
Located in the heart of a mountainous region of Saitama Prefecture in the village of Chichibu, the distillery is just under 2 hours by train from central Tokyo, and enjoys a hot and muggy climate. summer, and cold and dry in winter. It is these large temperature variations that are, among other things, at the origin of the astonishing maturity of the young whiskeys from the distillery.

Kyoto Miyako Distillery is Kyoto's first whiskey distillery, located in Kyotamba-Cho and surrounded by beautiful nature, in the central part of Kyoto Prefecture.
At the Kyoto Miyako distillery, there are two types of stills, one with an elongated gooseneck, and a more stocky and rounded one. The rounder model produces a spirit with a relatively strong taste, while the bulging model produces a delicious and mild tasting spirit.
This blended malt is a blend of barrels from two Japanese distilleries: Shinshu and Chichibu. A collaboration that has existed since 2015
Its elegant and complex profile, fruity and gourmet aromas with notes of plum and orange peel. This is a whiskey of great finesse despite its 54 degrees. We find the singularity of each of the 2 Komagatake and Chichibu malts. This blend offers us a great whiskey of exceptional finesse.
This blended is composed of several casks of these two emblematic single malts Komagatake and Chichibu, Mars Malt Duo Komagatake x Chichibu is therefore the result of an exchange of know-how between two of the largest producers of Japanese whiskey. Kasuto Hombo, the president of the Mars Whiskey House, traveled to Chichibu to select a few sherry and American white oak barrels filled with Chichibu single malt to transfer them to the cellars of the Shinshu distillery where they were aged almost six years under specific climatic conditions.

Recognized as the "Father of Japanese Whiskey", Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka Whiskey defined the history of Japanese whiskey thanks to the support and love of his Scottish wife Rita.
Masataka Taketsuru, son of a family of sake producers, is recruited by the Settsu Shuzo company, which has a project to produce the first authentic whiskey in Japan. A chemist by training, the young man left for Scotland to discover the secrets of whiskey making.
During his stay in Scotland, Taketsuru learned all about whiskey production by working for various distilleries. So many experiences that will feed his dream of creating an authentic whiskey in his country of origin.
The Nikka Tailored, Nikka's top-of-the-range blend, is the worthy ambassador of the know-how, culture and expertise of the historic Japanese house. Assembled with precision and delicacy, this whiskey is composed mainly of malted barley from Nikka's two distilleries, Yoichi and Miyagikyo, as well as grain whiskey from Coffey stills.
