Château Lestage has been a family property of the Chanfreau family for 50 years. Its vineyard covers 42 hectares in the commune of Listrac-Médoc and 9 hectares in the commune of Moulis en Médoc. Its vines occupy the highest point of the Médoc, the Puy de Menjon, at 43 meters above sea level.
In the heart of the vineyard, set in lush greenery, stands the Château Lestage, a magnificent Napoleon III building, built in 1870 to plans by the architect Minvielle.
The name "Lestage" would be the name of the family who owned the land in the 1925th century. The estate was mainly developed in the XNUMXth century thanks to the Saint Guirons family, which remained the owners until XNUMX.
Several families followed one another through periods of war and crisis until the arrival of Marcel Chanfreau, who acquired the estate in 1963. His grandchildren now ensure family continuity.

Wine merchants in Lille since 1804, the Cuvelier family set foot in the Bordeaux vineyards by acquiring Château Le Crock in 1903. They then bought Châteaux Léoville Poyferré (2nd Grand Cru Classé) and Moulin Riche in Saint-Julien. in 1920.
