Ménetou Salon Fumet la Tour Saint Martin Domaines Minchin 2022 75cl

Saint Martin Tower. It was in 1988 that Betrand MONCHIN embarked on the wine adventure in Menetou Salon, where his grandfather was already producing wine before the war. The plots, well established on the heights of the village of Morogues, consist of 10 hectares of Sauvignon and 7 hectares of Pinot. For almost 30 years now, Bertrand MINCHIN has been making the most of this magnificent Kimmeridgian terroir. Everything is done in the vines to produce the finest grapes: plowing, composts, control of vegetative balance, control of yields and respect for the 'environment (area labeled High Environmental Value).

A large part of the vineyard is harvested manually, to vinify each plot separately. It is in a perfectly equipped cellar (sorting table, carpets, thermoregulated vats, wooden vats, pneumatic presses, etc.) that he vinifies his grapes in a little interventionist way. The red ones cook a long time, are slightly drawn and dewatered manually. Whites undergo long pressing and ferment at controlled temperature.

Grape variety:Sauvignon

Manual harvest in boxes. Fermentation in oak barrels, Fermentation in barrels, Fermentation in truncated conical vats, Use of selected yeasts, Classic vinification. Aging in oak barrels, Aging in barrels, Aging in frustoconical vats, Fining, Light filtration, Traditional cork stopper, Aging on lees.

Anjou Blanc Vent de Spilite 2022 Ogereau 75cl

Grape variety: Chenin

For five generations, the Ogereau family has dedicated itself to viticulture on the prestigious terroirs of Anjou, highlighting Chenin. Since the end of the 19th century, it has passed down a true heritage from generation to generation: love of the profession, rigor in every gesture, attentive listening to the vines, a unique vision of wine and a constant commitment to perfecting their know-how. TO DO. The Ogereau family is thus part of a prestigious history, that of a thousand-year-old vineyard, which is the true cradle of Chenin.

From their village of Saint Lambert, perched above this volcanic fault which overlooks the other side of the Layon, thus offering a tormented landscape, the desire to explore these hillsides was irresistible for them. They therefore set out to travel these arid and stony slopes, in search of new perspectives. They discovered a wasteland and eight rows of old vines, which they acquired from a couple of retired winegrowers. Aware of the value of these old Chenin plants, they kept these eight rows and gradually cleared and replanted with selections from their old vines.

These hills, both rocky and windswept, have a name that suits them perfectly: Pierre Bise. The “Pierre” refers to the volcanic rock called Spilite, while the “Bise” evokes this fresh wind which blows almost without interruption on these slopes overlooking the Layon valley. Thus, “Vent de Spilite” fully reflects the great characteristics of this exceptional terroir.

Spilite is a type of basalt formed from magma emanating from a volcanic fault. This rock gives rise to shallow, extremely stony soils, containing a small quantity of clay and above all rich in iron and magnesium. In addition, the constant wind, this breeze which blows almost constantly on the heights of the hillsides, contributes to shaping this unique terroir.

Buisson Renard Domaine Didier Dagueneau 2020 wine of France 75 cl

Details Domain

Louis-Benjamin Dagueneau, who has worked for several years alongside his father and his sister Charlotte (commercial side) have been in charge of the estate since Didier's death in September 2008. Louis Benjamin perpetuates the high-end artisanal spirit of this small property where the management of the vineyard is done with control and serenity. Here, the harvest in crates is done in a very short time, at optimal maturity, with a great deal of staff. The use of selected yeasts, tight settling and long aging on lies without support remain the basis of an absolute quest for the crystalline expression of Sauvignon – enhanced by precise aging in wood, in barrels larger than the barrels, “cigarettes” (320 liters) or “tons” (600 liters).

Seven cuvées make up the range: Blanc Fumé de Pouilly (formerly Chailloux), a blend of four plots; Pur Sang, a blend from the La Folie sector; Buisson Renard, a parcel of Saint-Andelain, more compact; Flint, crystalline purity of flint clays; Not to mention the extremely rare Clos du Calvaire: 20 ares planted at 14000 vines/ha, uprooted in 2009 (2008 being the last vintage) and replanted in another direction at 10 vines/ha (next vintage around 000), and the Asteroid – number of a vineyard with vines harvested still very ripe. Finally, the last terroirs (while waiting for the red that Benjamin wants to vinify), the Sancerre de Chavignol, from the heart of the grand cru of the Côte des Monts Damnés.

QUARTER OF CHAUME ZERSILLES 2015 DOMAINE PATRICK BAUDOUIN 50CL

QUARTS DE CHAUME ZERSILLES 2015 DOMAINE PATRICK BAUDOUIN

The original Domaine was created by his great-grandparents, Maria Juby and Louis Juby, both from Angevin, who after inheriting vines on the slopes of Les Bruandières in St Aubin de Luigné at the beginning of the 1920th century, arrived in Ardenay, ("wooded height", in Gaulish) a small hamlet on the slopes on the right bank of the Layon, in Chaudefonds sur Layon, to settle there as winegrowers around XNUMX.

After a stint in Paris and other professional activities, Patrick BEAUDOUIN returned to Anjou in 1990 to re-found an estate based on the small and old family winery, the few rented vines still in production, and beautiful uncultivated hillsides.

Today, Domaine Patrick Baudouin has thirteen and a half hectares of vines in production. Ten hectares of Chenin, three and a half of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon, in the communes of Chaudefonds sur Layon, Saint Aubin de Luigné and Rochefort sur Loire (Quart de Chaume). Patrick also planted one hectare of Savennières in 2009.

The Estate undertook to convert all its vines to organic farming in 2002. Any new plot rented or purchased is immediately converted, if it is not already organic.
Since 1997 they resumed tillage, then abandoned chemical weedkillers, and from 2001 they no longer used synthetic treatment products. In the cellar, since 1994, no more wine from the Domaine has been chaptalized ("sweetened", as the ancients said), by limiting sulfur to a minimum.

In the vineyard, certified organic farming, constant search for the best human labor / biotope ratio, for a non-destructive, sustainable culture.

POUILLY SMOKE OF LADOUCETTE 2022

Comments
It is no longer this area of the Loire, located in the Nièvre, which can be said to some jokers that the Pouilly-fumé is a Burgundy Loire or Burgundy wine Loire. Associated with one of the most famous surnames of the French wine history, this pouilly-fumé of anthology perpetuates the canons of this appellation with rigor and constancy. Produced in the commune of Pouilly-sur-Loire, made exclusively from the sauvignon grape variety, which reveals here all its nobility, this Ladoucette masterpiece symbolizes the weight and strength of a family tradition serving appellations of origin. . Certainly, wine is a classic, an institution, a historical monument, certainly not a discovery, but at a time when the doors open to all the excesses, it is legitimate to stand at attention in front of some battlements. A Marianne of wines that feels in its place. (Marianne Magazine)

Since the end of the 18th century, the family of the Counts Lafond has the largest and most famous vineyards of Pouilly Fumé.
Baron Patrick de Ladoucette has continued this tradition of very high quality and has added to the 200 years of history a rare vintage, the Baron de L which sublimates an exceptional work and terroir. This remarkable wine is only produced during the great vintages. The Baron de L is recognized as one of the greatest Sauvignon wines in the world, of exceptional finesse and size.
Baron Patrick de Ladoucette then extended his know-how to the vineyards of Sancerre and perpetuated the name of the Count Lafond for his great vintages of Sancerre in exceptional bottles of the eighteenth century reminiscent of those used by his grandfather.
A few years later, the Clos de la Poussie, mythical vineyard of Sancerre being for sale, the Baron Patrick de Ladoucette acquired it. This natural amphitheater facing south allows for a particular wine, the Haut de la Poussie.

COTEAUX DE L'AUBANCE THE THREE SCHISTES DOMAINE DE MONTGILLET 2017 50CL

Created in the year 1880, the vineyard covered a surface of one hectare and a half during the installation of Victor LEBRETON, died at the age of 97 years in January 97. He was taken over by his son Victor (66 years, now retired) who has teamed up in 1988 with his two children, Victor (37) and Vincent (35).

The harvest was carried out by 5 successive sorts, the last ending at the end of November. “Les Trois Schistes” is the fruit of several sorts harvested on the three terroirs of Domaine de Montgilet. The botrytised harvest had an alcoholic potential of 17% volume on the strain. These bunches or parts of bunches were harvested in 30 kg crates to avoid any crushing and were subjected to slow and long pressing in the vertical press. All this without re-digging, in an attempt to extract the maximum structure from the grape while preserving “finesse and elegance”. This cuvée has fermented and been aged in barrels.
