The Schönleber family hold the vineyards of Monzingen in high esteem and have invested a great deal of time and effort over the past 40 years here in their village to maintain and, above all, bring back into cultivation the steep and formerly much appreciated.
Surrounded by hills culminating at 600 meters and engulfed between several rock masses (including the Hunsrück), the very arid hillsides are found at the very place where the mass of hot air rises up the slopes of the hill. A few kilometers to the north, there is a vast area of forest, the Soonwald. Naturally, the viticultural climate is relatively cool. The best conditions for the best wines are found here in places with many hours of sunshine, optimal alignment of slopes, stony soil and a warm microclimate. The area of the estate is 20ha. Riesling a share of more than 85%, supplemented by Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc. The soils are composed of slate, blue, green and pink schist as well as flint quartz.
GRANDE CUVEE NEW WAVE TROCKENBEERENAUSLESE KRACHER 2019
TBA n°5 is the Grande Cuvée of the Kollektion Nouvelle Vague from Maison Kracher. It is made from 50% Welschriesling and 50% Chardonnay.
